Ubisoft to Takeover Eidos?—News

French video games publisher Ubisoft Entertainment is preparing a takeover offer for Eidos PLC, reports Les Echos, without naming sources.
Eidos said Tuesday that it was in business combination talks with a small number of parties, and apart from U.S. publishers Electronic Arts Inc. and Activision Inc., Ubisoft is a likely candidate, the newspaper reports.
Ubisoft's French rival Infogrames Entertainment isn't expected to be among the interested parties as the company is going through a difficult time, the newspaper said.
