Taos is designed for professional digital photo software users, stock photo agencies, news/photography editors, ad agencies, creative directors, photographers, and yes, even the consumer digital photography enthusiast.

Open GL 1.4 enabled, Taos is an organizational tool very different from products like iPhoto from Apple, Extensis, or Adobe Photoshop Album. This tool is not meant to do photo editing, touchup, or any other digital photo special effects. Taos is a database engine using heavy duty 3D graphics effects in order to organize, print, catalog, and archive digital photos. The emphasis on the look and feel of the product is particularly noticeable. Taos is the first low cost database product that searches images based on their color and shape. Other than gaming products, Taos is one of the first applications that uses NVIDIA hardware to create a spectacular look and feel with multiple special effects in the applications presentation.
