With the onslaught on affordable high definition camcorders on the market today, Loilo (http://loilo.tv) has partnered with NVIDIA to allow PC users the ability to become the next James Cameron – if only for home videos. Super LoiLoScope MARS, a new version of the company’s easy to use video editing software, is powered by NVIDIA’s GeForce CUDA-enabled GPUs. As a result, Super LoiLoScope MARS creates movie files up to 10 times faster than CPU powered encoders, dramatically lowering the cost of a PC powerful enough to edit high definition content.
“Most amateur videographers will attest that playing, editing and rendering HD movies on an average personal computer was a frustrating task that took an exorbitant amount of time,” said Koji Sugiyama, CEO of LoiLo inc. “Super LoiLoScope MARS lets you edit full resolution HD movies quickly and output files for playback on various devices, and the web at incredible speed thanks to NVIDIA.”
Super LoiLoScope MARS has an intuitive and easy to understand user interface that makes it ideal for aspiring movie makers of all ages to create movies, regardless of their technical knowledge. Despite its unassuming interface, Super LoiLoScope MARS is a powerful movie creation software package with a list of new features that includes GPU accelerated H.264 encoding, movie output up to 10x faster with NVIDIA CUDA enabled GPUs, editing & playback of AVCHD HD movies at full HD resolution (1920x1080), magnet output which enables output of multiple movies at once, and a simple new interface for saved projects.
“The challenge of working on the PC platform, since it's always evolving with new technology, makes constantly striving for our goal very important, which is to provide end users a stress-free life through GPU, by providing an extremely quick and easy video editing software package,” said Ryutaro Sugiyama, COO, LoiLo Inc. “We keep developing what we need in order to achieve that goal. And working with NVIDIA’s technology allows are users to play with PureVideo, edit with DirectX, and output with CUDA. Super LoiLoScope MARS is the only fully GPU dependant accelerated video editing software out there. And it runs 10 times faster and offers mp4 file exporting with CUDA.”
Super LoiLoScope MARS allows users to export both high and low resolution video files onto different devices. On the Web it offers batch encoding with sites like YouTube and it offers simple file output in different formats. Anyone who has an NVIDIA card with Pixelshader 2.0 and CUDA will be able to take advantage of this new software.
The MARS version for Super LoiLoScope uses the NVIDIA CUDA computing engine found inside NVIDIA GPUs to encode, decode and playback high-quality, high definition movie files quickly. The software supports nine languages and a full array of playback devices, including MP4, iPod, PSP, AVCHD, mp4 for Blu-ray Disc, and Youtube HD movie formats.
“The beauty of Super LoiLoScope MARS is its speed and simplicity,” said Michael Steele, general manager of Visual Consumer Solutions at NVIDIA. “Its innovative interface makes advanced video editing understandable for the masses, and Loilo is yet another example of a mainstream consumer application tapping the tremendous power of GPU computing.”
Sugiyama said what separates Super LoiLoScope MARS from other products on the market is the GPGPU engine: ECOU ENGINE.
“This offers the ultimate speed level difference, which will not make you wait for ages anymore as if it is non-rendering,” said Sugiyama. “Also, thanks to the zooming interface and scoping UI, it’s an extremely easy interface that you can enjoy once you start using it.”
LoiLoScope began as an answer to the digital lifestyle that’s filled with many gadgets with picture and video capabilities. The original goal remains the same -- to be able to save many different files into different data easily.
“Nowadays you can take pictures and movies with your cellular phone and these video files are something really familiar to many people,” said Sugiyama. “With this data, our goal is to not just save them up into loads of databases, but to use them as a communication tool for everyone to be able to use.”
Some of the features that CUDA enables include the ability to edit video, pictures, and music files together. In addition to connecting these files together, users can scribble on top of them while the video is still being played. Aspiring filmmakers can get creative by adding text and animation to their videos. And once everything has been completed, it’s easy to upload these creations to Youtube or output it onto a DVD as a gift, or share it with many friends and family on an iPod.
While Apple has traditionally cornered the market with movie-making software, Sugiyama said that software is not the most intuitive on the market. Super LoiLoScope MARS was designed first and foremost to be easy to use, offering intelligent editing software that the masses can understand.
“This is where we hope to look for those users who have once given up on editing because of complexities or capture first timers who can learn how easy it is to enjoy editing,” said Sugiyama. “Our ultimate goal is to provide our customers with something that is really useful in the everyday lifestyle. We also strive to listen to their feedback and implement their concerns promptly into our software. After all, we’re always challenging ourselves to create a technology that will create laughter and happiness through their life memories and have our users enjoy using our software.”
Ultimately, Sugiyama believes videos will be used more and more by people around the world as a form of communication. By offering an intuitive way to create these videos and share them with friends, he hopes his software will become an instrumental part of the connected world moving forward.
