NVIDIA L33T Fans Contest—Winning Poem
Grand Prize: Best Switch Story — Edward W. Gierlach, Jr., Brunswick, Ohio
Twas Some Games On My PC
Twas some games on my PC, when all through the night
Not one was performing, that was my blight;

The games were loaded on the hard drive with care,
In hopes that frame rates would leave me no despair;

I was nestled in my Lazy Boy sitting reclined,
While visions of gaming was fresh in my mind;

With my wife at the store, and I with my mouse,
Had just settled down all alone in the house,
When from my hard drive there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my seat and knew what was the matter.

The game window closed faster than a sash,
And the Blue Screen of death popped up in a flash.
The integrated video chip sucks you know,
It appears to perform but really it blows,
When, what do I see from the corner of my eye,
But a weekly add from my local Best Buy.

With a GeForce4, so lively and quick,
I knew that instant everything would click.
More rapid than eagles the GeForce4 reclaims,
All my favorite games, and I’ll call them by name;
”Now Tribes! Now Tribes 2 and Battlefield 1942!
On Flight Simulator and don’t forget Raven Shield too!
The best FPS! The GeForce4 makes the call!
Now fire away! Fire away! Fire away all!

As soon as the onboard video was disabled,
I found that my games became enabled,
Not only that, but my performance flew,
And I lost my noob status too.

And then, in a twinkling, I read on a board
My name in elite status, my ego soared.

Expectations the GeForce4 did happen to meet,
It took me from noob and made me elite.

The GeForce4 improvements don’t end with games,
It improves everything just the same,
3D or 2D everything is better,
The best is S-Video for that matter.

My eyes, how they twinkled when I saw my PC,
Staring me in the face on my TV!
Games are crystal clear on my 40 inch,
But I can also watch PC DVD’s in a pinch.
True multimedia at my fingertips,
Leaves me no room for trite little quips.
GeForce4 rocks, can’t you tell,
It saved me from my integrated video hell.

Adding a card scared this man,
Until NVIDIA showed me I can,
A click of the mouse brings issues to a head,
Soon let me know I had nothing to dread;
They answer all my questions,
And offer suggestions,
This lead me to a conclusion don’t you know,
NVIDIA is the only way to go.

I ditched my onboard on my first PC,
And I found NVIDIA with so much glee.

Hear me now before I leave you today,
”NVIDIA rocks and to the rest I say, No Way!”
