NVIDIA recently returned from GenCon Indy, the “Best 4 Days in Gaming.” The GenCon show has been a staple in the gaming community for over 35 years – its featured attractions have evolved from Dungeons & Dragons and role playing games, to today’s hottest online PC games like those in the Everquest and Warcraft series.

Hot Games = Hot Hardware
On site with 12 Compaq X machines sporting the new GeForce 6800 graphics cards, NVIDIA showcased the latest and upcoming games on the fastest hardware in the world. Some of the most popular games at our booth included:

World of Warcraft
Everquest 2
Doom 3
Star Wars: Battlefront
Republic Commando
Flat Out

Free Stuff!
NVIDIA also kept the excitement going with its well-known T shirt spotting campaign. Attendees, after completing a short survey, received a free tee shirt sporting our famous “Nalu” mermaid demo character. Twice daily, NVIDIA scouted the exhibition hall in search of those wearing the shirts. We chose people at random (wearing the shirt of course), and surprised them with a free GeForce 6800 from PNY!

What’s faster than a GeForce 6800 Ultra? Two 6800 Ultras!
Revelers were blown away by NVIDIA’s new SLI technology, which with new PCI Express buss technology, allows you to run two GeForce 6800 Ultras side-by-side, and achieve almost DOUBLE the performance! SLI technology will also be available in the newly-announced GeForce 6600 series.

Best 4 days in Gaming? You bet!
As many people know, playing with NVIDIA is playing it “the way it’s meant to be played.” NVIDIA works very closely with game developers, creating and testing games on NVIDIA hardware to ensure the best possible plug-in-and-play experience for end users. We were glad to be part of GenCon again this year, bringing the hottest new hardware and software technology to over 25,000 attendees!
