Dark Void - PhysX Benchmark
(
901MB
)
The PC version of Dark Void really shines with amazing physics effects
that are accelerated on GeForce GPU's using NVIDIA's PhysX technology.
GPU-accelerated PhysX particle systems and turbulence effects are used
extensively for weapons and debris effects. Additionally, the game¿s
PhysX turbulence feature - an industry first - enhances the player¿s
jetpack and disintegrator gun effects to create a far more immersive
experience.
To give users a taste of the enhancements that PhysX provides to Dark Void,
Capcom and Airtight Games have developed a standalone benchmark that shows
off some of the PhysX effects.
PC's without the latest GeForce GPUs can run the benchmark, although the
PhysX processing in this case will be done on the CPU. Given the heavy
processing loads that are required for accurate physics simulation, the
benchmark limits the PhysX features to the "Low" setting found in the actual
game.
For the best experience on both the Dark Void benchmark and game, Capcom
recommends PC's equipped with at least a GeForce GTX 260 GPU, or a dedicated
second GeForce 9800 GT (or better).

Dark Void - PhysX System Software Patch

An earlier version of PhysX System Installer, called "Game System Installer", was inadvertently provided and subsequently incorporated into the released version of Dark Void for PC. This version is not compatible with some accelerated PhysX configurations and features, most notably the ability to turn on the medium and high PhysX setting within the game.
Please use the new PhysX System Installer patch below which will automatically cleanup and update the PhysX subsystem to resolve this issue.
